  • Good tips, I'll use them for writing my novels! : )

  • Great! One of the smartest ways a writer can succeed is to write a hit visual novel first then sell it with a contract that says they are just getting the printed version. You then get paid again when you sell the film rights later. You have more control over your story as a film if it already appeared in print and sold well. You then can get paid again to write the script. One out of 20 Hollywood scripts that are bought actually get made. All the techniques I teach are universal for any story.

  • Best in the series!

  • Thanks! Theme is really important to know as soon as possible when writing a story. Most writing classes and screenplay books do not talk much about theme or how to use it. Robert McKee does a good job in Story calling it the "controlling idea" since it really does control the plot but invisibly. Practice writing from theme first and you will really get how important it is for a deep satisfying story experience.

  • Thanks! It was not easy distilling theme into something under 10 minutes...
