  • Is Paula Millstone Jennings real?

  • No.

Actually, she, or more precisely he, is.

In the first printings of the book, his name was Paul Neil Milne Johnstone of Redbridge, Essex, a real poet who went to school with Douglas Adams (the poem shown on screen during the guide's narration on the BBC TV series is his actual poem; it's awful).

In later editions, for whatever reason, the name was garbled a bit to Paula Millstone Jennings, but the person he's referencing was indeed a real poet.

  • @sephiriam Let's hope so.
