Jump - Kris Kross (1992)

"Jump" is a 1992 song by Kris Kross, an American teenage hip-hop duo of the early 1990s comprised of Atlanta natives Chris 'Mac Daddy' Kelly and Chris 'Daddy Mac' Smith. Kelly (born August 11, 1978) and Smith (born January 10, 1979) were childhood friends, discovered at the age of 12 in 1991 by 18-year-old Jermaine Dupri at an Atlanta shopping mall. Written by Treach of Naughty By Nature, and produced by Dupri, "Jump" was the fastest-selling single in fifteen years and stayed on top of the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks. Kris Kross' debut album "Totally Krossed Out", which features "Jump", sold over four million copies. The song samples The Ohio Players' "Funky Worm" and The Jackson 5's "I Want You Back". Kris Kross later toured Europe together with Michael Jackson and made a cameo appearance in the video for his song "Jam". Jump" ranked #75 on VH1's 100 Greatest Songs Of The 90's.
