Have you learned the Tropnalo Oro by notes, or only by hearing?

Thank you for correcting my spelling, I will go to bed a cleverer man tonight!
The chanter is tuned in D and the drone is an A, as they were when I first tried it. I use a silly thin Dunlop red plectrum, and sometimes a light grey one... you know the ones I'm talking about!!!
Cheers!

They may well be, but I really can't remember what the guy's name was! I've got a Stefce Stojovski CD bought from the band after their St Chartier concert, and the name you quote is not in the credits. The 2 tambura players and singers to be mentined are Lajos Alimos & Mone Dimitov. But they may not have been in the band at the time of the concert, so you may be right. And I can't read the cyrillic handwritten label inside, but for the year: 1987.

Yes, i´ts a great instrument.
I think, the craftmen of it are the Gievski-brothers in Skopje/Macedonia?
But the instrument is called tambura (originally in cyrillic writing тамбура) ;-)
Could you tell, on which tones the strings are tuned? And which kind of plectrum do you use?
Best wishes
we need some more tambura bro, nice playing
