  • Very interesting as ususal :)

    It would be nice to see a video about solar cells that are not silicon based. Such as TiO2/anthocyanin. I've heard that since they don't need any semiconductors they could be much cheaper than traditional ones.

  • Solar cell people classify cells roughly into three sets - 1st generation cells are based on silicon and what are mainly used on houses at the moment, 2nd generation are based on

    more complicated materials like CaGeInSe (combinations of strange metals

    and semiconductors), & 3rd generation are more speculative and are

    based on things like titanium dioxide (the white colorant in many paints

    and sun creams) and things like fullerenes and stuff, and these are

    mainly at the research stage.
