A nuts and bolts training on the issues that arise when a guardian requires legal authority to administer antipsychotic drugs to a minor ward or adult respondent. A substituted judgment analysis by the court requires the submission of a treatment plan, affidavit from the treating physician laying out all the factors the judge must consider in making a substituted judgment as well as a proposed order. This training is an excellent opportunity for practitioners who have handled guardianship matters and are interested in learning about the procedure and substantive law involved in obtaining Rogers authority. Presented by Attorney Joanne Moses, volunteer with the Volunteer Lawyers Project/Senior Partners for Justice.
