Lorna,

People know that it is Richie's voice that successfully carried the Dupree's for over 22 years to where they are today. Richie on Aug 1st did a guest appearance in Brookdale park in Bloomfield with the Infernos in front of almost 1500 people and got 4 standing ovations. As soon as his name was annouced the crowd went wild.

Here's some of the song's that Joey Canzano a.k.a. Joey Vann sang.......("THE BEST LEAD OF THE DUPREES) "You Belong To Me"..."Ginny"..."Have You Heard".."Exodus"...I"am Yours....Where Are You?...It Isn't Fair...The Sand and The Sea...Take Me As I Am....Why Don't You Believe Me...Gone With The Wind...It's No Sin...Love Eyes...Yours....These Foolish Things. .......That was just to name a few.(believe it or not,that was just off the top of my head) there were many other great songs he sang.

Everybody forgets(or don't know) The original lead and started the group was Mike Kelly,but had no hits with them.(started in 1962 and returned in 1964).Between 1962 and 1964 ALL the "hits" were sung by the greatest lead (to me anyway) was sung by Joey Canzano stage name Joey Vann.may he R.I.P.So forget any other the lead you can come up with.

I recently heard there is some friction amongst some of the group members, and one or two members was/were replaced.

It would be disappointing if this was true, because you can't improve perfection.

I feel sure it could not have been member Phil. He brings out the best in everyone!

@DERedhead65 I just want to say just one thing and ill stop the controversy. Ive been promoting for almost 25 years . Its not the music were against ,its the way it is brought to the public ,and displayed . Ive made many great friends in the business ,and have seen many of them not get their just rewards from their music . The only thing we ask is to make sure that the general public knows they are not the originals and should be coined as so, its your $ spend it wisely,like em or not ! AMEN

Somebody needs to inform these guys that if they are going to intruduce the

Exodus song (This land is mine....) on stage that it is not and was never in any

way intended to be an American patriotic song . Can it be that they don't know

the meaning of the song????Or don't they respect the author, intent, or the

audience. Stunning gaffe at the Keswick Theatre last PM and their assistant

selling T shirts in the lobby wouldn't even agree to pass it on......sing on...but

don't misinform.....
