The jackets were blue before color tv in the late sixties when they began wearing the red ones.

dave mcdonald, whoa they are all so youthful i feel like marty mcfly in kitchener
-
They are from left to right Jim Haskins ,Pam mackenzie , Dave Macdonald and Wayne kooyman form the late 80's
-
I didn't know they wore red blazers on CKCK radio. I guess you got colour radio, huh?
-
The "National" was a CBC newscast. I think the announcer meant CTV National News, with Lloyd Robertson.
Maybe on his monitor, the red CKCO jackets looked more like the legendary CBC Sports 'melon' blazers of the 70's and 80's.

CKCK Radio/TV in Regina had red jackets as well. They had mostly stopped wearing them by the mid-70s, though a couple of people occasionally still wore them for a few years after that.
In general, I have to say from these CKCO clips that it was a fairly dated-looking station, especially the way the call letters were presented.

Can't beat the red jackets -- they jumped the shark when they changed them to brown.
-
isn't it: pamela mackenzie and ron johnston as the two middle co-anchors?
-
The lady in the center I think is Daiene Vernile, I know she's been the host of the CKCO program "Provincewide" since I was a little kid.
The red jackets, classic!
"And by the way...they seem to think CKCO is still a CBC affiliate."
I assume that CKCO had no show titled "The National" at this time as CBC did?

I don't think CKCO ever used blue jackets, but there may have been another station that did. I believe CKNX had some sort of uniform wear for its anchors, with an "8" logo on them. Not sure what colour they were though.
