Actually the guy in the water is Miles Jennings and he is part of the boat team , but at this point he's part of the rescue with all of his safety gear removed to dive down to release a rope .

I would guess that the person in the water has little to do with the race boat crew, and a lot to do with the recovery team. Which explains the rescue boats lack of rescue attempts on him. All race crew in the UK races have full body impact life vests and racing helmets.

Yes gdilf1, you are a cock. Having never tried anything hard in your life you are suitably qualified to pass comments on those who do. The boat was swamped during the race, whilst at standstill whilst an engine repair was being attempted. Unlucky for them.
