Thanks for posting this video. I found it very helpful in my decision to buy the HVR American Harvester press. I've only tested it on a small batch so far, but I'm very pleased. This coming weekend we've got 1,100 lbs of apples to press into cider!

excellent video and very informative. My neighbor growing up used to press cider and give it to us kids on halloween night. thanks for posting

surely if you just press the apples you are just making apple juice? or am i missing something...isn't there a fermentation stage?

Yes; you may be from outside the USA, in which case what we call cider what you call juice. Hard cider is almost non-existant in most of the USA, being sold in only some specialty stores (it is making a bit of a comeback). We call it "hard" cider and yes, there is a fermentation process that has to take place that is far beyond the scope of this video. Hard cider is very low alcohol and once was considered a temperate drink, consumed in huge quantities in the USA.
