thanks for this!

I believe their licence to use the name ran out. Railways of the World is basically the same game and the expansions for Railways of the World work with Railroad Tycoon.
Railways of the world comes with an extra Mexico map which was not included in Railroad Tycoon and as far as I am aware this is not available seperately.

I just played "Age of Steam' for the 3rd time and just a few days ago. To me it does not seem that hard to play or learn. I think everything is hard to play when you first learn it. I played a 4 player game and it was fun. Even if we had a few Sharks playing the game kept it fun for me.

You also need to remember the prices.
Age of steam is the cheapest. (35$-45$)
Railways of the World and Steam have close to the same price. (45$-60$)
Steam's train figure pack is over 20$!! That is how much it is to buy an expansion for Age of Steam.
And what every happened to Railroad Tycoon the Board Game??

Thank you =D =D =D
To those reading these comments and trying to figure out what is right for you... well if you're reading these comments Age of Steam is NOT for you. It is fairly brutal compared to the others and unless your group is full of perfectionists that analyize each move to the nth degree I'd go for Steam or Railways. As for what is better between those? I'd say Steam plays better with 3 or 4 and Railways better with 5 or 6... so it depends on how many players you typically have.

You're dead on, Tom! AoS is my favorite of the three and I am no fun to play with!
