Here is the new render of the launch sequence. The animation has some elements of TMP, ST II Wrath of Khan and ST V The Final Frontier. It comes with complete new lighting, new ships and some modified takes.

@kb7rky The Motion Picture certainly isn't the greatest movie ever made, though they did a reasonable job of the Director's Cut afterwards. But the scene in TMP where Kirk is taken out to the Enterprise in dry dock is just PERFECT! You're given glimpses of "her" to tantalise you first, then she is suddenly lit up in all her glory - just amazing and one of the best film sequences ever in my opinion.
