  • what are you guys talking about, this is great!

  • Lackluster. Right. That's why they placed second in arguably the most prestigious choral competition in the world.

  • I'm blessed to have worked with T.Steward a cardinal singer herself as my high school choir teacher. Than even more blessed to have Dr.Hatteberg to work with us from time to time :) good job

  • @swthemer I've been studying at UofL for two years and Dr. Hatteberg has never once told us to sing without vibrato--we simply do all we can to blend and most of us therefore sing without vibrato. There is no "forcing" whatsoever. Please be more informed about your criticism.

  • And I don't think the soprano at the end cracked. I think she did a melisma.

  • @memocrc There's another video on YouTube of them singing this. :) But this is from way back in 2005! They returned to Marktoberdorf again for the 2011 competition.

  • The sound is amazing no one can deny that but in my opinion it's just too white. By that i mean i would like a more rich darker sound. Treat as it is a Negro Spiritual. Oh and i love the malismas that you added.

  • Usually, they sound wonderful, but this piece doesn't work when performed this way. They are one of the most amazing choirs in the nation, but I dislike this performance. Just an opinion.

  • The choir director at UofL is all about the "core of the sound", so he forces them to sing without vibrato which, 1. strains vocal cords if done incorrectly and 2. creates the most boring interpretation of this amazing Moses Hogan song I've ever heard. Great blend, but overall a lackluster effect was achieved *sigh*

  • I think It's amazing....I love it....
