Wayne Allwine, who served as the voice of Mickey Mouse for 32 years, died yesterday of complications from diabetes, according to the Walt Disney Company. He was 62. Allwine—who started in the mailroom at Disney in 1966 and won a sound effects editing Emmy for his work on Amazing Stories in 1986—was the only the third man to voice the famous cartoon mouse, which was introduced in 1928. Allwine first could be heard as Mickey on The New Mickey Mouse Club, and later in Mickey's Christmas Carol and Who Framed Roger Rabbit, not to mention at Disney theme parks worldwide. His wife, Russi Taylor, has provided the voice of Minnie Mouse since 1986.

    he'd really be disapointed today because the disney company made everyone forget about mickey and made them think it all started with a girl who wears a blonde wig

    kingdom hearts is the only thing today thats faithful to disney

  • Bret Iwan's voice is actually really close

  • *cough* Prostitute Mickey *cough*

    That's all I gotta say lol!

  • @kingdomkey013 In loving memory of Wayne Allwine,KH 358/2 Days credits.Kh is one hell of a game...

  • @j30296 No, 'Plane Crazy' was Mickey's debut. 'Steamboat Willie' is generally regarded as his debut because it was the first Mickey cartoon to be distributed (it was also one of the first cartoons to use synchronised sound). In reality, Steamboat was Mickey's third cartoon.

    Plane Crazy = May, 1928

    Steamboat Willie = November, 1928

  • @mzapril that guy fucking died on my birthday. what the hell

  • idk but.. i like the disney movies back then than todays disney movies O.O ... and i miss them D;

    and yeh, glad theres kingdom hearts that respects the good ol'disney movies ;3

  • @TaleSpinTV1990 Wayne actually died in 2009.

  • I thought Mickey's first words were "hot dogs!" ?

    and I love how they showed a clip of "Peter Pan" before "Snow White", I would've thought Snow White would be first since it was years before Peter and Disney's first big film.

  • @TaleSpinTV1990 I just want to clear this up, The Princess and the Frog did not flop, it was in fact a success...Maybe not a Disney Reinissance success, but enough to renew interest in hand drawn animation (which John Lassater wanted back), which is partially why we got winnie the pooh this year.

  • @xxironfistxxx It's not the whole company's fault for Mickey's absence, it's the television division of disney. Think about it, if the Disney company in whole tried to rid mickey all together, not only would he no longer be the mascot of Disney but we wouldn't have seen any dvd releases of Mickey and his friends through the past decade. So the Walt Disney Company still has some heart, but the channels are the reason kids don't know mickey like they used to.

  • So, Bret Iwan does Mickey's voice now... There's still hope for Kingdom Hearts 3....Been a fan of Disney and Kingdom Hearts for as long as I can remeber
