The Tapiola Jamboree: Boy scouts meeting in Finland 1953. Old short film shows what scouts were like in that time. Sensible ears may want to turn down the volume a bit because the music is no treat. English explanations in the subtitles.

  • Is the film reversed or do they shake with their left hand in Finland?

  • No, it's not rewersed. I believe it's a scout custom to keep the right hand free to use for the salute, so they had to ricieve the diplomas and shake hands with their left on solemn occasions like this

  • @Ishexan Actually the scout handshake is done with the left hand because the hand closest to your heart represents friendship.
