You are comparing a house to a house which is a necessity. Insurance is a necessity. Internet isn't. It's stupid to have internet when you can't afford insurance.
@gigman7 Depends on how you see insurance, obviously millions of people in the United States and throughout the world do not have health insurance, therefore its hard to consider it a necessity, despite its benefits. Internet is a luxury item, but they wouldn't be able to afford health insurance even if they cut its subscription...might aswell enjoy the life you've got.
True, but this woman obviously sees it as something she should have. Many people don't look at what they need as if they should earn it. Only that someone owes them something while they spend their money on luxury items.
Internet not required? What age are YOU living in? You can't even get a decent job without it these days. Not that a decent job will help you afford health insurance at the rate it's going of course.
Billions of people on this earth don't have internet, and they continue to live. Internet connects people, nothing more to it than that. Having an internet connection has little to do with what job your going to get.....
The internet is a luxury item, it betters your life or makes it more enjoyable, it is not necessary for life...seriously, get real.
Ok, here's a fun science experiment. Quit your job if you have one, and then throw away your computer. Now try to find one that you can afford health insurance on. Or go back to school so you can qualify for them, you'll find it very fun when 80% of your (classroom based) course professors/TAs give/take assignments via email. And you're going to tell me it's a luxary? You have it pretty easy, as a citizen of the corporate ran democracy that is the United States I'm envious!
