Hi Nancy, for fine silver you intend 999 silver? And for sterling silver 925, right? What is best to use for soldering silver pieces? 925 wire or 999 wire? Thanks

@kayzen76 Hi again Kayzen, Yes, .999 for fine silver, .925 for sterling. For soldering, you need a material called solder (pronounced "sodder"). The solder is usually an alloy of silver, copper and zinc. If you try to use .999 or .925 wire you will probably melt the piece you are working on. Solder comes in IT, Hard, Medium, Easy and Extra Easy. The differences are the amount of copper and zinc added. Extra Easy has less silver and has a yellowish cast, IT more silver. Ran out of room here!
