Huaisheng Mosque in Guangzhou, China, is one of the oldest mosques in the world - now over 1300 years old! As well as a being a mosque, the building used to serve as a beacon for boats, which is how it got one of it's alternative names, "the Lighthouse Mosque". According to old manuscripts, the mosque was built by Sa'ad ibn Abi Waqqas, an uncle of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, during the reign of Emperor Gaozong of the Tang Dynasty.
