Ruth Becker Blanchard's recollections are by far the most interesting and dramatic of all the survivors that were interviewed for this documentary.

I love how back then the young men addressed each other as "old man" like today they say "dude". LOL!!

Plus I have read that Captain Lord was somewhat of a tyrant and the crew was afraid of him.

Most of the people who went in the water did not drown. There were plenty of life jackets. What actually killed the majority was hypothermia. Fill a glass with ice and add water. The temperature will be about 28 deg F, the same as the water temperature the night Titanic sank. Try and put your hand in it and keep it there for more than a few minutes. It's surprising how quickly the heat gets sucked out.

You're correct. Chivalry is sorely lacking, too. You don't see many like J.J. Astor and his ilk.

The wireless did not require a 24 hour watch in those days did after the accident happened the rules where changed .May be if the port motor only was put in full reveres it may have helped pull the ship around 2 points was not enough (22 degrees ) only problem had only 37 seconds to do it
