Great vid!

@spallaswat77 great idea. just don't fucking lose it. I heard fun stories about a marine patrol losing a GPS in the river with local ANA positions stored. They had to dive for it in the afghan shit pit.

Great review and run through of the GPS. I'm taking one with me to Afghanistan. Thanks!

@Bogiecheck6 The Foretrex 401 does not have a built-in map, nor can you add to it so you use a printed map with it, or at least you should be familiar with the layout of the land you're travelling in. If you know the coordiantes of points x & y, you can save them as waypoints BUT the Foretrex 401 does not have routing capability. This GPS' main purpose is for trekking out in the woods, not for road travel.

I learned from another video that the wrist band can be removed.

Can the GPS unit be removed from the wrist band in order to store in pants pocket, etc. and then latter reattached to the wrist band? Thanks.

The first time you scrolled past your location, the 17S PU caught my eye. I just left Bragg last year and that grid zone designator was really familiar to me.

@Bogiecheck6 you can set the the location using coordinate.
Question: The whole point of a GPS is the ability to get to a place without using a map. If you have no idea how to get to the location you use your GPS. I confused, do you have to go to the location inorder to mark it??? Lets say I want to go to point x (destination) from point y (current location). For the GPS to know where I want to go would I have to of been at Point X in order for the foretrex to mark it?

@Bogiecheck6 sorry this was done on the fly, you can input grids via the GPS number by number, or use software that comes with it.
