The Beach Boys original lineup (Brian Wilson, Carl Wilson, Dennis Wilson, Al Jardine, Mike Love) are interviewed on Good Morning America on Dec. 5th 1980.

Yeah, I know the quality is horrible - this was transferred from a mult-generation VHS dubbed collection of similarly ridiculous clips.

  • How sad to see this. I am sure Dennis is now in a better place, taken away from all the pain he couldn't release. He wasn't perfect, none of us are..."in the arms of the angels, fly away from here..' Carl handled the interview situation with love and class for his brother.

  • its sad to see Dennis this way

  • Wow, what a beaten down group of guys. This was painful to watch.

  • So sad, live on Dennis and Carl... and Brian if you ever happen across this site you are one of my greatest inspirations.

  • dennis is acting more like a beach bum than a beach boy :\

  • Drunken Bum , abused his privileged position.

  • @ragingbull888 keeping a consistent level of genius almost never happens. give those records another listen. just because it's not 10/10 all the way through doesn't mean there aren't some brilliant, amazing songs and that it isn't worth the time, especially in the late 60s and early 70s. even after that, even to this day (see brian's "midnight's another day" from 2008) these kids are still doing incredible things.

  • @runnersdialzero333 They had some stuff here and there, (Sunflower, 'Til I Die) but they never came close to repeating the level of brilliance they had before smile crashed.

  • @ragingbull888 No, it didn't.

  • @laosandburma Oh, shut the fuck up already. Why does Mike even need to be brought into this? How is it the least bit relevant to how bad of shape Dennis was in at the time?
