Wait what? why did they shut down Astroworld in houston?? i used to live there i dont anymore which is probably why i don't know why its shut down..what happened?

If I recall correctly the land the park was sitting on was more valuable than the money that the park was making... four years later it's still a big grassy field. :(

i went there the fourth of july there last year,.. big mistake, six flags made it look so cool on there website but the park was ugly. no only that but 4th of july was gangday there.. there were always gang fights and security gaurds running. when the park closed the security gaurds said go straight to your car cause it was so dangerous. and the cyclone was the roughest coaster i had ever riden. when we got back to the hotel the news came on saying a gang destroyed a station,robbed,killed,worker

o how much i love and miss astroworld me my dad and my sister would always go on the weekend but now its just a field of grass they said they were going to put apartments but never did

I don't think it ever got stuck on the loop maybe on the lift.

This was one of my favorites! I also remember that sometimes it would get stuck on the top of the loop. :-D

I lived in Houston during 1998 to July 2002 and it was fun. But when i go back to Houston these days it's totally different and it has no life in the city anymore. Every time i go back to Houston i see nothing but a lot of boring country people and it doesn't feel like a MAJOR CITY anymore. Houston was still OK until they took Astroworld away and that put the nail in the coffin. Why does everything in the world suck now days?

the real reason it failed was because it was frequented more and more by scumbag thug gangster wannabes (as Houston continues to be), and who wants to be around that shit?
