Actually....this IS completely accurate. There are no problems with the slap patterns...all the muting is correct as far as the recording is concerned and the note selection is right on the money. The only thing you're missing is a fretless.
A word of advice....don't take any shit from people coming on here....like the guy "Steve". I watched his video and he WAY over simplifies the line and doesn't add any direction. He plays it in 2 spots and there is NO movement like Les. Cont...

In order to get the whole song, you need a 6 string. The solo uses the b extensively and technically the first flamenco strum is 4th fret on the g and the c. The riff still sounds great on a 4 or 5, but for the full feel a 6 string is needed.

This is right but instead of open E to G its G to A. Not that it makes any difference. The descending part is correct. The way it is transcribed in the "Official" tab book which I have is wrong. I know because I was so obsessed with learning this song when I was starting I had my mom sit down and help me. She plays piano by ear and tunes instruments by ear, her job is violin repair, shes like a human tape recorder. I saw them play it live too it is so much clearer you can hear all the notes.

DUDE you got any songs yourself? Band or solo well keen :)
How did you record your bass? Just with the camera mic and bass amp or did you run the bass into a recording software? It sounds pretty cool. Hot and overdriven. Just wondering if that is the tone you get from your amp or maybe it was just a bit hot for the camera mic. Anyway sounds good

@bigvelvetdog The bass runs DI into the computer, through an amp/cab vst simulator and recorded in DAW, i mix this with a mic that i speak through, so no camera audio at all.

I love how all of you people go on and on about how technically accurate you all are and where the other guy's wrong and all that BS, but the fact is that not even Les plays it the same way more than once. This is NOT Mozart or Beethoven. It's not as literal as you all make it out to be. Way to wreck a good song.

@TheMortallyWounded I know he plays it differently every time, I'm merely explaining the way its played on the studio album, which would be considered the 'official' riff.

@Slamface7 It's an OLP mm32, shame they don't make them anymore; they're great basses.
