Behind the scenes of "Spare Change" the Movie--shot on the Canon EOS 7D SLR by Cinematographer Clayton Combe (http://www.tonmanproductions.com). A single-lens reflex (SLR) High Definition digital camera, the 7D offers amazing image quality and outstanding performance for under $2K. It shoots beautiful stills and video with an imager as large as Super 35mm film--with a replaceable lens option.

"Spare Change" producers invited Converciné Communications behind the scenes on day one of principle photography for the short film written, produced, directed and featuring Suzette Azariah Gunn with Nicoye Banks, Fred Valle, JoAnna Powell, George Pappas, Kellie McCants, Glenn Fleary, Rich Holscher and Jaleah Keitt.

Behind the scenes shot and edited by Miles Maker for Converciné Communications.

  • what lenses are these

  • @CheMcbunny Follow Focus, Steadycam, Glidecam, Laptop, few batterys for the 7D, few portable lights, some fast and big harddisk.

and pc should have 4x3ghz and 8gb minimum.

  • Good stuff - am looking forward to shooting with the 7D - I just got my hands on it recently

  • Quixotic noob on cusp of getting one of these lovely cameras for filmmaking. What kind of computer can process the images... what do you do for quality sound... and is there a portable storage system short of a laptop and external hard drive? A thousand thanks for playing it forward, sideways... film ways.

  • Thank you sir for sharing your knowledge and opinion. If I'll go for CANON T2i, is their a big difference in performance with the 7d? thinking I'll save the extra money to buy the support rods..

  • This is a set of Canon FD primes. They're discontinued, and can only be bought used, but they have a lot of character and in my opinion, look nicer than a lot of the EF lenses.

  • They're definitely the hot cameras right now; In fact, I just today bought a 5D mkII to go with the 7D, and Canon has announced their 24fps firmware update for the 5D for March 16th. Coupled with Zeiss's new PL/EF-mount Compact Primes, HDSLRs are going to be HUGE this year. Good luck on your feature!

  • The TM300, on the other hand, will look more like video, with a lot of the frame in focus at one time. If you're shooting home movies and sporting events, I'd recommend the TM300, but if it's a more stylized form (narrative, commercial, music video, etc), people tend to want the 35 look more.

  • The 7D and the TM300 are very different cameras. The biggest difference you'll notice in the image is the depth of field. The 7D has a much larger chip than the TM300, so it will exhibit the narrow DOF characteristics of the 35mm format: more selective focus and soft foreground and background.

  • What lenses were used here?
