This mid 19th century antique steam engine model is based on the more efficient James Watt design. It was built by one of the finer scientific instrument makers "Lerebours et Secretan" of Paris. The company was founded in the later half of the 1700s. Napoleon owned a telescope made by them. This model has glass cylinders for demonstration purposes. The flywheel is 21 ¾" in diameter and the whole model weighs 125 pounds.
So does it actually run on steam or no?

Fabulous model, as rare as hen's teeth and it clearly shows how one of these engines works.
