Hexen is a medieval FPS released in 1995 by Raven Software, utilizing a more advanced version of the Doom engine. It is the sequel to Heretic, even though it takes place in a completely different world. In Kronos, the world of Hexen, Korax has invaded the world and brought it under his rule, giving unholy power to the leaders of the Legion, the Church, and the Arcanum, and causing chaos throughout the lands of Kronos. Three individuals, Baratus, Parias, and Daedolon vowed to stop the Serpent Rider, only to end up being separated, and they must travel the lands of Kronos in order to reach Korax's domain.

Hexen greatly improved on Doom's engine, adding stuff like swinging doors and scripted events, as well as the ability to select your character, each one with their own set of weapons and abilities and attributes. It also had an extra set of retail levels sold seperately called "Deathkings of the Dark Citadel". It also later spawned a sequel that used the Quake Engine: Hexen II.

In this part, I start off the first hub, the Castle of Grief. I scale the walls and activate all switches, and activate half of the bottom switches on the lower part of the castle, and then leave to go to Forsaken Outpost.

  • I`m interested who was the voice actor for Korax`s lines?

Also I hate this hub, because I can`t find one more obscure gear! FOR YEARS!

  • This game looks allot like catacombs wich I have played or Nightmare , or whatever that game was called. Was a pretty fun game , never played Hexen myself but i'm sure it was just as fun as the simulair games i played :)

  • Did not enjoy this levek, due to it's mass amount of pillars on the ground :l

  • "You have played this game too long moral... I think I shall remove you from the board?"

  • This is my favorite hub. I love the architecture. =D
