Yeah that probably is one of the signs that tells everyone the trains are radio controled. No one on board to even give you a warning. But then again skateboarders has no brains. Darwin award winner.

frik92, What is special about this video you ask??? It is an old piece of Railroad equipment not seen in use much latley, this old snow plow was originally powered by steam and used to clear snow off of the rails on the run over Donner Pass.
A Safety Note today. Notice the skate boarders not paying attention to the train. Two months ago a 21 year old male was hit and killed by a train at 10:00 at night in this precise location, he was on the tracks where you see the end of the cement barrier. Railroad tracks are not a place to play around, please stay off the tracks.

you give it a title "snow plow", wheres the snow ?? xD

The snow was farther up the line. The snow plow was taken up the Feather River Canyon route in an attempt to plow the snow off the tracks but it was too wide to clear some switch control devices located close to the rails. It never made it up to where the snow was so it was later brought back down to the railroad yard in Roseville.

how do you hear the detector. I never hear at the crossing by me or any

The detector is just up the tracks, I picked it up on my 2 meter Ham radio in the van. Frequency 160.875 in Lincoln Calif. Mile Post 116.9 just north of Roseville. The transmission of the information is activated when the train hits the detector, the first one you hear, then when the end of the train passes it the detector transmits the axle count, speed, temperature at that time.
