why aint yer commands said in irish?
i know the brits formed the boy scout movement i think over 100 years ago and 1916 hero countess markievitz formed na fianna eireann an alternative as republicans prefer the youth of ireland to respect the national flag and not the british flag.
the fianna is a republican youth organisation alligned to republican sinn fein.
do ye not say praid aire/sheasaigh ar ais/scaipaigh and all that na??

Hey there,
Bainamíd úsaid as ár teanga fhéin an t-am go léir ach níl a fhois ag na daoine ar an ardán cad é an scéal! They think that all the scout troops are the same, so to make sure we get a prize if one is coming our way I have to resort to Bearla!! Believe it or not but they have given it to other troops in the past who can barely walk past, let alone drill, thinking that they were us!!
Cheers for the comment, Slán a chara!

Hi. Most of us are actually either RDF or PDF. Scout drill is not military drill, done very differently. Sorry you didn't like it but for the record, 2 of us won the Defence Forces Drill and Dress Competition, so we do know a wee bit about it. Thanks for commenting anyway.
