Shining Force II 6 vs. 6 rom hack DEMO part 4 (Mirror Match)

Shining Force 2 is a classic Turn-Based Strategy/RPG developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega in 1994 for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis.

Thanks to Space King's and BigNailCow's Shining Force 2 rom editors both found at http://www.romhacking.net/, player characters are now able to fight each others.

THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS. THE QUALITY OF EACH VIDEOS MAY VARY BECAUSE I AM CONTINUALLY EDITING THE ROM AND TESTING DIFFERENT ENCODING OPTIONS.

Before watching, you must be aware that...

1. NEW! Winning condition = Death match. All units of the opposing team must be defeated.
2. All units are Level 30, and were promoted at 20.
3. All units start equipped with their strongest (highest ATT) mithril weapon. No other weapon is allowed.
4. Stat boosting items are ignored. All SFEdit and no play makes xenometal a dull boy.
5. Rings are also ignored because monsters can't use them, unfortunally.
6. SORC spells have the same animations as the WIZ ones, but otherwise function the same. That is so that monsters can use those spells too.
7. The DEF stat of all units has been reduced by 20%. This was done to balance out physical and magical attacks (magical attacks were way overpowered).

You'll be glad to know that there's a small community of people dedicated to hacking the SF games located at Shining Force Central. Since I posted these videos, the SF2 editors have gained more functionalities, and an editor for the first game is now available as well.

Shining Force 1 and 2 for the Sega Genesis is hands down awesome! I love it and it's 2011, and I'm still playing this game... It never gets old. I'm one of those few that's dedicated to the entire series.

It's 2011, and I can't believe they didn't make another Shining Force game...I hope they do make another one for the DS. If they ever do I will get that, and my collection is complete. :)
