If you want to learn how to jump higher you will need to develop high levels of strength in the quads and glutes in order to generate a lot of vertical power. One of the best vertical jump exercises therefore is the trap bar deadlift. In this video I discuss why this exercise works so well and also how to perform it correctly.

  • @BoggleDongMongerFlog The sound issues have been really driving me mental as well. I have since invested in a high quality wireless microphone and hope that future videos the sound will be much better. Check How To Jump higher Episode 11 which is the first one with the new mic. Much better.

  • @VerticalJumping Next one you make, should be short and sweet and to the point, the people searching these videos don't care HOW exercise helps you. We just want to know what to do and how many times to do it. I dont care which muscle it works, If it makes me jump higher. Ima do it.

  • @Heatseaker19 No worries. The quick and minimal knee bend for actual jumping is as you have discovered, the way to go. Slow jumping is low jumping. 

  • @VerticalJumping LOL k I see. Yeah I guess I was quick to point that out becuz I was jumping like that for a long time and only recently realized now that I was doing it wrong. For a moment it seemed like thats the way you implied people should jump but nevertheless that wasnt really the point of the video.

  • @Heatseaker19 Hey Heatseeker, this was a video about the best STRENGTH exercise for increasing your vertical. By your definition you would squat never to parallel either. You can take specificity too far, especially with strength training.
