Ron Weeks translates the significance of the "Tree of Forgetfulness," the site where slaves were forced to perform a ritual that cursed them to forget their identity and their heritage so that they'd never return to haunt the kings who sold them into slavery.
Fascinating.

the heritage that the slaves forgot was that they were the children of Israel. the "seasoning process" continued when they reached the americas. those who knew who they were, were killed or whipped until they gave up the remembrance of their heritage. they were given knew names, languange and religion. the bible tells us in deauteronomy 28:68 that the Jews would be brought to egypt (house of bondage) again in ships. so-called "negroes" are the only people to ever go into slavery on ships. shalom
