How to run a streetcar

To explain more - trolleys are different than trains. Tracks are generally used in one direction. The switch at :36 is in the "wrong" position - which would be a problem for a train. However, this is designed to move out of the way of the wheel flange. When the wheel passes, the spring moves it back in the straight position. Very commonly used on streetcar passing sidings

I hope to make it out there someday. It looks like a fun place. We are in Illinois, about an hour or so from the Illinois Railway Museum, which has a cool demonstration railroad too.

@kerethan Nope, just poor video quality!

Is it just me or is that first switch track totally not set up for their corner? You can see the tracks are set up to run straight, not for a train coming around the corner.

Hi, I am a volunteer and certified motorman of the OERHS (Oregon Electric Railway Historical Society) in Brooks, Oregon. We have a similar streetcar on our line like this one, but it only has hand-brakes.... Nice operating!!!!
you need to go through the training course at Seashore, located in Kennebunkport, Maine, USA.Google "Seashore Trolley Museum"
