It's every parent's worst nightmare. One moment their child is perfectly healthy. The next, they've stopped breathing and are turning blue. For many children, the merest hint of nut is all it takes to send them into anaphylactic shock. Food allergies are on the increase and the number of children affected has more than doubled in the past ten years. Yet simple precautions could significantly cut the death rate. This week's documentary, 'When Food Kills' is a wake up call to the rising danger of food allergies.

Alllergies are on the rise due to the crap we eat  that destroys our immune system . When you eat corn today or any of its derivatives like syrup/sugar, which is now 90% GMO corn which has built in INSECTICIDE or bacteria that will keep on killing... Google Genetically modified organisms

Deadly food allergies are allergies to proteins in food, not sugars. Casein and whey found in milk are good examples, while lactose is a good example of a sugar. You don't develop allergies to sugars. Respiratory depression is the usual cause of death for an extreme food allergy. I get asthma, but not complete respiratory distress.

Peanuts are not even edible in their natural state. They are toxic. They have to be processed in order to be edible. They aren't even in the nut family but instead the lentil family like beans. Just like almost all beans they cannot be eaten without being heated.

Growing up I do not remember all these things that people could not eat because they got sick, from food allergies to gluten and milk intolerance. Makes you wonder what the fuck we have done.

@18rubiks Karma is the law of cause and effect not one of retribution. No one is talking about letting people die. In fact if you help others it is positive karma. The point merely was that western science is founded on trial and error, fragmented knowledge, and in violation of principles of nature.

@acidcrashguy it's gonna affect the people in the east too. if global warming is true(and even if the western calture caused it) will it not also affect the east? what do you call that? karma? no, because there is no such thing as karma. we all need to stop thinking that you "reap what you sow" and leave people to die. we need to help each other out and help save this planet
