why there is such a great lack of respect and so much incompetence in the comments?
1 - These are great musicians, but Abbado is one of the greatest conductors in the world, and his work for this recording has certainly been crucial
2 - the tempo is not that common in the Baroque, but since when the audience of classical music has become so stiff and unable to appreciate new solutions, especially of such high class?

Why didn't Abbado also conduct the harpsichord cadenza too?

@Harmonieuniverselle He's just clearly lending his name to this band. Not that there's anything wrong with it, but if at least the musicians pretended to be paying attention to his indications. Theses guys are obviously used to play by themselves (and BTW very nicely!).

Thank god I found this, that harpsichord cadenza is one of the best things I've ever heard.
