The Gyrator

Never a day to deep

The Gyrator combines legendary K2 performance with Rocker technology for those ready to go where no rider has gone before. Effortless float replace any and all leg burn while slightly stiffer nose and tail increase pop and provide stability whether you're dropping a pillow line or sticking a 60 foot tabletop. No directional board limitations and Hyper progressive side cut lets you float through the deep stuff while still handling groomers and flats with ease. Fast, stable and fun. Either you're in or you're left behind.

Construction Features:

Rocker: Redefine your boundaries.
Replacing camber with Rocker may be the best improvement in snowboarding to date! ROCKER helps the board rise to the surface of the snow while the rider maintains a centered balance for maximum control forward or switch. Get in some deeper snow and you'll have a HUGE smile! The shorter Hyper progressive edge makes the board maneuverable and lively on groomed terrain while the pre-set Rocker allows you to jib in style. A stiffer nose and tail prevent the board from buckling whether you are dropping a pillow line or sticking a 60- foot table top. Rock-on!

Tip tech: Hybritaper takes our current Hybritech Construction, and tapers out the core at the tip and tail to reduce the swing weight. We blend the tips from a cap into a thin sandwich removing the sidewall where you don't need it.

Shape: Hyper Progressive. Similar to a formula one car suspension, our Hyper Progressive sidecut allows for ultra fine adjustment at any speed and in any condition. An infinite number of different radius are blended together flawlessly from mellow in the tips, to more aggressive in the center. This sidecut mellows out the transitions leaving you with the most predictable, best all around riding board on the market.

Stance: 1" back

Core: WH4 Core. The WH4 core maximizes absolutely every element of our core. With a grater percentage of Honeykomb than the WH3 core, it is engineered to maintain durability at minimal weight.

Glass: NEW! ICG-20 top. Lighter, stronger, more responsive. We have integrated our carbon strips into the fiberglass reducing overall weight and creating a super smooth release of power. Increasing pop and liveliness, each level of ICG is distributed for the rider at hand and their performance needs.

Torsion Forks: NEW! Carbon Matrix II. Matrix I performance enhanced with additional carbon bracketing the center of the tip and tail = Unrivaled ollie performance, powerful pop and fine tuned edge control.

Base: 4000 sintered. 1. Fastest natural base material available.
2. Durable
3. Absorbs wax faster
4. Retains wax longer

Base Bevel: 1°

Rocker: Powder rocker, the acid rocker. Our Highest amount of Rocker enables the board to float effortlessly in anything over 4".

  • great review...you guys carry the capita horroscope?

  • we did carry them but they sold out super quick.

  • Nice vid review. Better than a lot on here. Do more. Can you review the Never Summer SL-R? I like that you actually show the board being ridden. I can't stand those Skisdotcom "reviews" on here.

  • thanks for the feedback, we are trying to show how the boards actually looks when somebody rides it... not standing there explaining how it should ride. Sorry but we do not carry Never Summer, wish we did but we don't

  • Now first you need to get your terms correct. Lib and GNU are reverse camber, K2 is a rocker... whats different? GNU and lib tech and continuous camber while the K2's are more of a flat base (flat between your feet) and turned up nose and tail. And the K2 is actually very close to a surfboard or wakeboard. 2 different approaches to accomplish the same goal.

  • my snowboard doesnt have any wheels to do wheelies on, sorry.

  • the torsion bar goes from the nose to the binding and tunable on the move .. i have had some feed back and they may build a board with just rocker at the front and a flat tail . hope i get a free board as i feel i did a bit of work for them...haha i still love my k2 turbo dream it is every board i have in one

  • i emailed k2 regarding the floppy nose , i also thought the board would ride better without a rockered tail . more pop more stable .. i made a tunable torsion bar for my gyrator . it solved the flex in turns and wild flapping when on piste ...i know it is a powder board but i say f$£* the norm .. i ride it in the park

  • hey i might buy a 5150 sr from k2 i wondered if its any good

  • awesome review.

  • actually, thats incorrect.the lib is a real rocker, as it has a rocker inbetween the bindings and a flat base, or camber, out to the tip and tail.either way its a bombin tech no mater what you call it.and lay off dude.just ride.technicly, lib stole it from never summer so get yer facts straight

  • last year i buy the k2 gyrator 162... im a snowboarder since 1987... after 2 days of riding powder..i sell the board because i like more the camber boards..

im sorry but i find this board to much soft and with a small sidecut for real fast freeriding.. less pop. i hope this year k2 do a more stiffer board.. not all the riders are beginners in powder..

i like this board only for freeriding with more trees.. slowfreeriding with many turns at less speed..

    bye
