Pouring milk into a dish at a constant rate while recording it, then putting the video through an edge detection filter to remove the noise. Should be possible to make one side of a 3D object from this using the images as slices.

  • Yeah pretty well, obviously not as good as a real 3D scanner, but not bad given the price (a pint of milk)
