@dany06902 The EMG-HZ series are the passive EMG series, which means: No battery needed.

@dany06902 EMG HZ pickups are passive and don't require a battery.
Imho they kinda suck though. EMG has good active PU's but their passives are poor.
If you want good passive pickups you should try Dimarzio or Seymour Duncan although I would just buy a better guitar since the GIO isn't worth spending money on.
It's duty is to teach you how to play, you have to move on after...

I have a gio too but mine has 2 doubles and I'm wondering if I can change them for 2 emg-hz can someone help me here because I've heard that some pickups need a bbattery to work

@dany06902 You can switch to HZs if you want. I don't know if they'll require a battery, I'm not very well associated with EMG pickups.
