Customer:
Excuse me, waiter, you served my soup so cold.
Swear I saw a rodent. This bread tastes worse than mold.
Man, my mouth's on fire. Will you please refill my tea?
Please don't start expecting to see a tip from me.

Waiter:
Excuse me, patron. Recall who serves your food.
No, I've never poisoned anyone who wasn't rude.
You've never left a penny. You stiff me every check.
If poison doesn't kill you, I'd love to wring your neck.

I've been on both sides of this fence. It galls me that the system is designed so that you have to have an expectation of tips in order to get an almost reasonable wage. I always gave the best I had to offer to people and I've actually gotten tips of less than a quarter. Rather they didn't leave me anything if that's the best they could do.

  • @lloydhofer Do tips that aren't automatically added into the check motivate prompt service?

  • Yeah... Why tip waitors when all they do is complain about people being dicks when its part of the job...

I seriously hate waitors. Take my order and give it to the cook in back. Dont stand there and small talk about the color of my fucking shoes dick. Im here to eat not to talk.

  • all the dam servers cry about about $2/hr... hey ... why u so stupid and get a job like that? why dont u do some entry level work that pay you? LOl stupid lazy shiet... beggging like a bunch of beggars... constantly thinking that tips are mandatory is pathetic. Tips are basically gift for super excellent service.

Waiters needs to stop acting like beggars and just do their dam easy ass job!

  • @slw2222

    That doesn't seem fair.

  • @qkwijt yes

  • Waiting on tables might seem easy, but it takes very strong multitasking skills and patience. You really should tip when you go out to eat and someone brings everything to you. You can blame any entitiy you like (government, etc) but the way things are remain.

If labor wages went up for waiters do you think the food prices will remain the same? Tip your waiters and waitresses folks.

  • tipping is a taxable tradition that lowers the base pay of servers while offering higher tax gains, because whether you make that money or not, you pay the taxes. NO MORE TIPPING AS FORCED TRADITION, tip because you want to or can. Two babies and a pissed off wife leaves you broke with no options. SO if i have to take her to dinner, and i plan to tip, and she gets dessert, sorry buddy- she just ate your tip. I had to tip my wife to keep my literal balls, so fuck your problems.

  • fuck tipping

  • fuck gratunity

  • So instead of going after the citizens in the community to pay more taxes just for us to have higher wages (which is impossible) we would go after the department (employer). If the department didn't want to pay us anymore than we would go work for a different department. Waiters and waitresses have the same options. I do tip well most of the time. But the thought of people expecting that tip sickens me and makes me not want to tip. It takes away from the significance of the concept.

  • I work for a fire department and my job works much the same. If I don't treat the customers (taxpayers) with respect every time I come into contact with them than they won't vote in favor of our levies and/or lid lifts and I would be laid off. I make a decent wage at my job but lets say the department decided to cut our wages in half. Would it then be OK for us to force a tax increase on the customers with out their approving vote so we can make our salary? Of course not.
