"God helps those who help themselves."

It's not in the Bible. It's even anti-Biblical, but, as Ken Jones of the White Horse Inn has pointed out, many "evangelicals" think that it's in the Bible and, when they find out that it isn't, they think it should be. Jeff Noblit lays that myth to rest in this sermon.

wow a person with a religion calling me hypocrit...let me see: various branches of religions say the other is not as accurate,some go as far as saying: if you don't believe in jesus you will burn in hell...my "beef" is: why don't people with a religion keep it simple and just abolish religions that have been nothing but a cancer in human kind and most of all a business,and just say: hey,we believe in god and in being good and honest...sounds a lot simpler than 10 comandments that are hypocrisy

God is God, you can not change that. He spoke the True Gospel. This is not spoken toward your satification, it is spoken to break your self righteousness. Perhaps you don't like hearing the real truth. Until you reconize your wickedness in our heart, you never see the truth. Apart from Him, we are nothing.

One of the guys I listened to just before I began to study theology was Henry Blackaby. He said the same thing in his "Experiencing God" series. "God helps those that can't help themselves." Amen

When I listened to Jeff's sermons, they were as powerful as Paul Washers. These messages really give me hope. I didn't know if I was still granted repentance, because I didn't hear the gospel, but just preaching. But it's like my eyes were really opened to repentance again when I hear Jeff speak. I feel like my conversion is slow, but I thank God for granting me the repentance He's given me so far. I hope the gospel will keep changing me, and others.
