@mikesandytoes I am a general contractor and have knowledge of every aspect of building. I have been a member of the National Association of Home Builders for many years. If you are a true carpenter then you know a 8' precut stud of 92 5/8" and a bottom plate and two top plates would give you 97 1/8" and a 1/2" sheetrock on the ceiling and two 4X8 sheets of sheetrock would leave a gap of 5/8" on the bottom. I don't know how to make it any simpler than that.

Are these supposed to be pro tips? This is newb shit. "Hey, lets mark our outlets with LIPSTICK!" Do you carry that around in your belt?
Mark the outlet on the ground, usually 14 inches up, then router that bitch.

you can just hit the oulet wit ur hatchet. then with the rotozip cut it. it will take bout 1/8 of the time it took you to do it.
The hell with it, just drywall over the outlet.
