As veterans day approaches its time to stop and look at some of those memorials that you might otherwise pass by and think about the price that some have paid in service of their country. Sitting along the south side of busy North Ave. as you go through Northlake Il. sits a Korean war vintage U.S. Army M-46 Patton battle tank. One of only a couple of dozen still around it is part of a memorial to veterans of American Legion Post 888. My question is who plants a lilac bush right in front of the display?
