The Pope is only infallible when speaking of matters pertaining to faith. The Vatican is a great institution. I am a practicing and devout Roman Catholic, and this statement by them, in my personal opinion, is outright wrong. The Pope can make mistakes on things not pertaining to faith (e.g. the Galileo affair), including economic matters.

You need not spew hate on an institution as crucial to human morality as the Catholic Church. I am blessed to be Catholic. Praise God.
