Testing what a 1080p video from a Kodak Zx5 camera looks like when uploaded to youTube. The MP4 was copied from the camera to my desktop (W764bit) and rotated 180* in Arcsoft MediaImpression, the software that comes with the camera. Then uploaded. Nothing else has been changed. First off I can't recommend this camera unless you don't want to spend over $170 bucks then the Zx5 is OK at best. I still think the best 1080p I've seen from a little tough cam is from a GoPro camera. This Kodak at 1080p seems too compressed/pixelated and I believe there is a noise reduction/cancellation that as you can hear cuts out the ambient noise when I was driving. You'll hear everytime I stop the music come in. That wasn't in post. This file is a 483MB AAC MP4. BTW the video was rotated 180* since I mounted it on a windshield mount in the top right corner of my windshield upside-down. So it is recompressed once but really noticeable.

  • At least the stabilizer seems to work great even inside the car.

  • @blue9z Windshield mount I bought off Ebay. Pretty good.

  • does this camera have good audi, like is it foggy or unclear when you film randon sudden increases in noise?

  • @SuperCarsGT3 you can see banding and chaos in fog and anything with large uniform color. If you have a little more money then get a GoPro. I can't emphasize how terrible this camera is in both audio and video.

  • @KMREX Thanks a bunch! Well I should have listened to you.. I bought a Zi10 which was awful (same as your Zx5). Bad audio and video worse than my MinoHD. I exchanged it for a Zx3 which has better video for dash cam purposes (IMO) but still lacks detail in 720p due to its scaling. It has the same audio as your Zx5 though, very muted and full of low tones. I am thinking of trying out the GoPro Hero 960 next.

  • @KMREX I ended up returning the Zx3 as well, it wasn't the best - I have a clip posted on my channel. I picked up a GoPro Hero 960 and couldn't be happier. Awesome quality, view angle, battery life and build quality. No complaints!

  • Teriible? This camera looks pretty damn good... and it is only $109

  • @vVeazel Cool! Congrats!

  • @vVeazel I've see the GoPro 100 times. THAT IS the cam to get for action shots. People drive on the freeway here with the motorsports kit hanging on the outside of their car, so 100% its a good cam. EVERYONE NEEDS TO STAY AWAY FROM KODAK!!! At least until they fix their problems and service.

  • @vVeazel Sorry to hear. I filed a complaint against Kodak with the BBB due to their negligence in the situation. I now have a Canon T3i (TOTALLY different type of cam) but the quality of 1080p is incomparable. There's zero chaos on the Canon and no background blips or chirps.

  • cool quality!!
