Spring steel is an attribute completely separate from the type of tang. Yes a rat tail tang is (very) bad but that has nothing to do with the type of steel used. Spring steel is good because it resists deformation from bending or worse yet shattering. Keep in mind that just because a company says a sword is "spring steel" that doesn't guarantee quality. Your best bet is to do some research and buy from a reputable company.
If you take the time to read the comments I was responding to, then you would see that THEY where hating and I was setting the record straight! They can't just bash Cheness swords without having ever used one! The swords have been reviewed very favorably by many sword enthusiasts, including Paul Southren who runs "sword-buyers-guide,com". These people do this for a living , and are obviously much more qualified to comment about the quality than a bunch of idiots on YouTube!
