  • Lovely. Listen to Paddy Keenan's version as well.

  • try Sean O'Riada sa Gaiety

     as youtube is bloching me

  • Sean o riada,

    ....

  • An uillean piper plays this at my session. Such an evocative tune.

Met Hamish Moore and had a lesson with him last fall in Nova Scotia.

That's Laoise Kelly on the harp. Liam Ó Maonlai on whistle

  • Ok... I'd just realize it's a washboard!!

In my land we just use the wooden ones and it took my a while to notice that is a metallic one!!

  • What's the name of that fingerplayed instrument that sounds like a snare drum?

  • Beautiful.Haunting.Thank you.

  • I came across this purely by accident.... I`d never heard such a haunting tune in my entire life....... why ?... I`ve no idea.... makes me want `more` though......

  • Those are Hamish Moore highland pipes in the key of a I think.

  • That's interesting! You might be interested in also watching a video clip I filmed and posted of this tune. I have entitled it "St Laurence O'Toole Concert: March of the King of Laois - MacDonald/Tully/S.L.O'T".
