Young American athletes don't care about Track and Field because there's no money in it. All other countries have a stronger interest in international competition than we do. Usain Bolt, Asafa Powell, ShellyAnn Fraser are super duper celebrity stars in their country. But Tyson Gay is no star here. Track and Field gets no respect here. That's why our best athletes target basketball, football, baseball, boxing, because that's where the money is!!
