Efficient Online Teaching by Beth Dobler Part 3 of 5 presented at Emporia State University's eLearning Institute Summer 2009
Teaching online requires a different way to structure your instructional time, which can be daunting at first, and still overwhelming even for more experienced online instructors. This session will focus on tips for efficient online teaching. The presenter will give a brief introduction, then the remainder of the session will be a time for participants to share time-saving tips for making online teaching manageable. The discussion will center around answering questions such as: What is the most effective way to have students submit work? How do you keep up with grading online work when you do not have time to sit down at your computer? How do we make students more independent with solving online course related questions/problems? How can I keep up with all of the emails from students? These and other issues will be explored with the goal of helping participants find ways to develop their online teaching style while keeping things manageable.
