Before I knew it, I had an essay in response, so I tried to put the paragraphs in coherent order on here.
But here's an extra thought: human nature is so tainted, the Potter must smash the pot before rebuilding the clay. And it's so true - good sheep will follow the Good Shepherd. "My sheep know My voice. They won't answer to a stranger." The goats can wander after their prosperity gods who'll lead them over the side of a cliff. So long as it makes a straighter path for the sheep. Praise God!

So many lines are drawn in our society. Al Gore wrote a book called: An Inconvenient Truth. I haven't read it, but can relate to the title. Truth is inconvenient. It was inconvenient for many 2,000 years ago. It's inconvenient today. Conservatives mocked Mr. Gore, scoffing at the notion of he could be a prophet. Excuse me--we are COMMANDED by YAHWEH to be a good steward of His earth. Someone on a democrat ticket strives to do that & we act like we alone have the tags & license to Jesus Christ?

So we contradict the word of God in order to KEEP contradicting someone we perceive to be an enemy. We don't have to give it much thought, cause - after all - we've had our flu shot. We're immune to disease. "Good fruit" is not cheating on spouses, not partying, & adhering to the practices of our religion. Pharisees who slaughtered the Savior also held to these statutes. But they were tainted, diseased, rotten from the inside-out...all because they assumed the Law of Moses was their flu shot.
I've heard Paul Washer expound on this, too & it's an excellent analogy. Our society has become so "tangled" & twisted. As long as someone smiles a lot & never has a harsh word, we perceive that to be "good fruit." They must be a good tree (a real Christian) because they never cause any grief. Nor did the prophets of Nebuchadnezzar. They were very friendly: "Yea, King, you're the greatest...no worries." But was that what he needed to hear? No. The King needed truth. He heard it from Daniel.
