Yes Enrico made this song popular by singing it in a french version (In 1962), but it was originaly sang by Regina et Bruno, they were a band playing traditional songs from Corsica in the early 60's and their own compositions too (like this one).

Dominique Marfisi, Catherine Darbal and Bruno Baccara are the authors of the song, Enrico wrote the french translation of the lyrics.

But the interpretation of Vigen-Barge Khazan is realy nice indeed...
