The Great Unleashing of Transition Whatcom

A synopsis of our two-day celebration and extravaganza held on April 10-11, 2010 which was designed to motivate, excite, educate and engage our community in coming together to envision a vibrant, resilient, and dramatically less energy-dependent Bellingham and Whatcom County, and which unleashed our collective genius as we started working towards a tangible and compelling plan to get us there. We aren't connected in any way to Agenda 21. We are a local community organization that has chosen to use the Transition model to create more resilience in our community, so that we might thrive in spite of coming shocks. We do all kinds of things to make sure that- no matter what happens- our families, our neighborhoods, and our towns will be able to meet basic needs like food and warm shelter in the future.
